This universal clutch drum spring compressor tool is designed to fit most common clutch drums up to 6" in size and can be used on a variety of transmissions, including Turbo-hydramatic - 180 / 180C, Turbo-hydramatic - 350 / 375 / 400 (3L80) / 425 / 475, Ford - C4, C5 & C6, Ford - AOD / AODE, Ford - ATX, Torqueflite "6" (904) / (30RH), Torqueflite "8" (727) / (36RH), GM - 700-R4 (note: must be out of case, if in case, T-0149 is required), and GM - 4L60, 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70.

The tool is designed with 6" long legs specifically for deep clutch drums, similar to the Atec Trans-Tool T-0158-HD. It applies pressure to the retaining washer in the clutch drum, compressing the clutch piston return spring, which allows for easy removal and installation of the snap ring during clutch repair or transmission overhaul. However, it is important to note that this tool does not work on rear case pistons.
